The Crux - Nordic Design Mountain Cabin

Welcome to my dream home in Romsdalen. Designed by architect Reiulf Ramstad and built in 2024, this high-standard house offers breathtaking views of peaks, forests and rivers – just 3 km from Åndalsnes.

High-quality bedding and furniture, a fully equipped kitchen, underfloor heating throughout and a wood-burning fireplace. Sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms, with 2 bathrooms.

Four half-floors

• Level -1: Master bedroom with a 180 cm double bed and private toilet and shower. Wake up to views of the high mountains – and fall asleep under the starry sky.
• Level 0: Entrance, drying room and main bathroom.
• Level +1: Living room with fireplace and kitchen/dining area with a huge panoramic window.
• Level +2: Two bedrooms, each with a bunk bed (120 cm + 90 cm), plus a work and reading area.

Optional guided activities and personal tips: hiking, fly fishing, kayaking, skiing and more.

• Self check-in from 3:00 PM with a key box; check-out before 11:00 AM. Access details are sent before arrival.
• The last stretch to the house is a steep private gravel road that can be slippery in winter. It is cleared every morning after snowfall; you can also use the lower parking lot.
• No EV charger on site (superchargers in Åndalsnes, 3 km).
• No air conditioning – the house stays cool with natural ventilation.
• The house is built of soft pine wood: no shoes or ski boots inside, and please keep wood surfaces dry.
• No pets, no parties, no smoking.

A car is recommended. The house is accessible by car all year round – the road is cleared every morning when snow falls. Free parking for one car by the house, plus a lower parking lot.

Åndalsnes (3 km) has a train station (Rauma Line) and EV superchargers.

The house sits in the heart of Romsdalen, surrounded by some of Norway's most dramatic mountains, forests and rivers. From the door you have easy access to the best hiking, climbing and swimming spots in the valley – including the river just below the house by Sogge bru.

The town of Åndalsnes is only 3 km away, with shops, restaurants and the Romsdalen gondola. A guidebook with local recommendations (outdoors and culture) is sent before your stay.
